František and Florián, two boys from the Czech inland, coincidentally receive shortly after the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic into the border area of the Ore Mountains. One desires adventurous life, the other and his family come from forced. However, only two Czech families live throughout the village, the other population is German. And although people are doing well together in the interwar era and are used to helping, with a rising wave of aggressive nationalism, they take the established order in the borderland quickly. So far reasonable people become enemies and none of the Czechs are safe in the newly created Sudetenland…
