The author inspired the fate of Jewish relatives from the family of Leopold Ofner, the owner of the farm and the trades in the former Zamlekov (today in the Klatovy district). Of his eight children came the author's grandmother Hermína Kolárová, née Oncenerová. The manuscript shows the situation of the branched family - off -road children, their partners, grandchildren and other relatives - in the time of the Second Republic and the Protectorate and retrospectively in more distant history. The Nazi Shoa period meant for all the expulsion of normal life, humiliation and bullying and final liquidation in concentration camps. Only one grandson, later the author's father, was saved by escaping from the Protectorate to the Western Czechoslovak Army. In addition to the Once family in the book, there are also marriages of a related family, especially Münz of Horažďovice, manufacturers of spirits and wines, and Kopperl of Proseč, owners of the famous pipe factory.
Documentary prose was created on the basis of personal documents, registry records, records of Jewish communities, local chronicles and witnesses of witnesses, of course with the necessary authorial fabric that bridges some white places of family history.
