Classic English detective story for fans of murders in midsomer ...
Deep in a cave under the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the north of England, a man's body is found. Experienced Chief Inspector Jim Oldroyd with his younger colleague Carter, a newcomer from London, is being investigated.
The victim of the murder is Dave Atkins of the nearby Burntthwaite, where too many people had a reason to hate or even hate him. There is no shortage of suspects, but the circumstances of crime are not reasonable to Oldroy and Carter. How could Atkins' body find themselves in such a remote part of the cave? When a person who could have provided important information to the case then becomes clear that the murderer will stop in front of nothing.
Oldroyd and his people are trying to reveal the truth, but every answer only raises new questions. It seems that the closed rural community is full of secrets and lies. Oldroyd and Carter will soon find out that this case will be darker and more intricate than the caves hidden underground.
Classic English detective story in the style of books of legendary genre authors such as John Dickson Carr, Clayton Rawson or Ellery Queen.
