The book Death of the God of Death presents a story full of courage and self-sacrifice, but also betrayal and cruel revenge. The author knows well all the actors of this drama. After all, it was he who first tried to clarify the background and course of the assassination in the book Za Heydrichem śtn from 1947. Jaroslav Andrejs gives an exhaustive testimony about one of the most successful actions of the Czechoslovak resistance against the Nazis. Today, there are plenty of studies of the assassination by reputable historians, but that doesn't mean there isn't a place for solid nonfiction. It reminds us of the brave Czechoslovak paratroopers, but also of their selfless domestic helpers. The names and fates of people who risked not only their lives, but also the lives of their loved ones. People for whom the word patriotism was not just an empty concept. Hundreds of them met death and that should never be forgotten.
