Caregiver Jiřina lives in a tired, unexciting marriage with a not very well-known actor Luďek. That is, until the moment when he decides to help one of the clients he is in charge of at the retirement home with a supposedly ordinary act of kindness.

When the aging writer Mojmír receives an offer for a generously paid author's reading, he does not refuse - even though the reading is to take place at a team building event of the company where Mojmír's ex-wife works.
