Science is an essential part of modern life. Part of a significant and powerful, but also mysterious and closed, with its own life understandable only to a limited circle of researchers. How and what do these "conquerors of the unknown" live? What do they value, what pleases them, what burns them - even enough to make it worth commenting on? This book tries to answer that.
The method of selecting, sorting and ordering the statements of famous and unknown scholars and writers, together with the author's occasional notes and references, offer a unique walk through the world of natural sciences - the external, obvious world (experiments, discoveries, publications, use, fame, money...) and the internal, hidden world (fantasy, ethics, beauty, God, but also prejudices, fear or sadness from knowledge...) - after all, just look at the contents at the beginning of the book. However, the aim is not to offer the presented quotes as dogma; rather, they should inspire readers to think and develop their own reflections.

Thinking activity consists of two parts:
1. be able to understand other people's ideas and not avoid them
2. to have one's thoughts.
