No one is more dangerous than a person who has nothing to lose... Experienced war correspondent John Bailey, after returning from the Middle East, where he spent ten months in captivity, is drinking life alone. A broken man would need a fresh start in his personal life and finally some big story for the paper. Few would look for him in the murder of a young prostitute in a rowdy neighborhood of Sydney - such news appear in the tabloids every day.
