Joss Grant inherited a large ancient house in the English countryside from a mother she never knew. When she and her husband and young son move into the former family home, mysterious things begin to happen. Scared, Joss gradually uncovers the ancient secrets of the cursed family's history and tries to protect all her loved ones. The real world, populated by sympathetic characters, is confronted in the story with the dark medieval past.
