After two centuries of systematic collection, a publication that maps the agate wealth of the Czech lands is published. In addition to the agate, he shows the diversity of the whole group of other quartz materials - jasper, chalcedone, karneol, fossilized wood, quartz veins and other lesser known, yet very aesthetic varieties. The main part of the book shows more than 950 stones out of the 56 most important deposits of Bohemia and Moravia on 172 boards. Typical findings, mostly obtained from private collections and mostly unpublished, are complemented by short texts characterizing individual deposits. The book presents the essay of the drawn stones by Václav Cílek, which comprehensively deals with the topic - from the creation of stone, through the history of their use to their symbolic significance.
