The collection of four stories about the famous detective Sherlock Holmes contains the following short stories: A Scandal in Bohemia, where the invincible detective is overcome by female wit, The Adventure of the Red-headed League, the story of a failed attempt on a big bank robbery, A Case of Identity, in which a simple-minded young heiress awaits in vain her groom on her wedding day, and The Five Orange Pips, when Sherlock Holmes cannot prevent in time the completion of the tragedy in one family. So despite unravelling all the mysteries, the master of deduction is not an absolute winner in solving of each case.
