One of the folk definitions of life says it is a sequence of continuously governing larger or smaller trouble. We solve the smaller ones with a wave of the hand, we say bigger worries and the really large ones are referred to as crises. In drama, the crisis means a point of turnover, when the calmly flowing storyline suddenly goes wrong. It is similar in life. Moreover, there is usually no resources, experience and time. Some crises do not avoid and are even predictable (adolescence, middle age), but most of them will catch us unexpectedly, although from a later point of view we see that our lives were heading towards them. Some would even be prevented from noticing warning symptoms in time and acting in time. All of this is the publications of the author's pair of psychiatrists Radkin Honzák and Vladimíra Novotná, who has rich experience with the crises and their consequences from both clinical and consulting practice. The text describes step by step anatomy of the crisis, ways of solving in each phase and the most common types of twists. Examples of societal crises are also mentioned that allow better orientation in uncertain times. The book is a manual for both common use and instructions for those of us who are involved in helping or helping offering professions. Finally, it can also be useful to those who want to help but do not have enough experience.
